The town clerk's office in Bridgewater has issued a reminder that June is License Your Dog Month.

This year, residents are invited to bring their dog when they renew or submit the dog's license.

Photographs of dogs will be taken and posted on the "Dogs of Bridgewater" wall of fame at the town clerk's office at Town Hall along Main Street (Route 133).

Residents are invited to pose with their dog.

"We love it when people bring their dogs in," said Cheryl Pinkos, who recently celebrated her 19th year as Bridgewater's town clerk. "We will have a doggie treat for every dog who visits in June."

Dog owners must license all dogs six months and older at the town clerk's office beginning June 1.

License applications require a current rabies certificate, owner's name, phone number, address, dog's name, breed, age, color markings and sex.

If licensing a dog for the first time, a spay or neuter certificate, if applicable, is required to qualify for a lower license fee.

Fees are $8 for a neutered male or spayed female and $19 for an unaltered dog.

Dog owners have until the end of June to license their dog without penalty.

Licenses may also be renewed by mail using the dog license form available at www.bridgewatertownhall.org.
