Spirits were high and hope was in the air June 26-27 at Sarah Noble Intermediate School as the New Milford Relay For Life offered cancer survivors and their families and friends the chance to bond.

High on everyone's priority list at the overnight event sponsored by the American Cancer Society was the remembrance of those who lost their battle with cancer during a mid-evening luminaria ceremony.

The all-night, benefit walk-a-thon was ushered indoors for a first time by event organizers because of potential bad weather, but that couldn't dampen the atmosphere as those on hand helped raised funds for cancer research and education.

This year's Relay feature a theme of board games, including Monopoly, Candyland and Twister.
