Region 12 voters to decide on education budget plan
Voters in the Region 12 school district will go to the polls Tuesday to decide on a $21.25 million education budget proposal for 2011-12.
The proposed budget would represent a 2.23 percent increase over the present year.
Drivers in the budget include special education and transportation cost increases, as well as capital facilities requests.
Current net per pupil expenditure in the district is $19,921.
The 2011-12 budget share for each town would be Bridgewater $5,011,068; Roxbury $6,557,435; and Washington $9,328,359.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Roxbury and Washington voters will vote at their respective town halls while Bridgewater voters will cast their ballots at the Hilltop Farm Senior Center on Hut Hill Road.
