Recycling simplified in Kent
The Kent transfer station now accepts "semi-single stream" paper products and co-mingled plastic, metal and glass.
All paper products can now be grouped together.
The list of paper items includes cereal boxes, newspaper, magazines, junk mail, office paper, cardboard, clean pizza boxes, phone books, paperback books and file folders.
Co-mingled plastic, metal and glass includes tin cans, aluminium cans, aluminum foil, all plastic number 1 to 7, plastic plant pots, juice and milk cartons, detergent bottles, empty aerosol cans and glass bottles.
Containers must be rinsed and must not include food waste.
No oil, pesticides or herbicide containers will be accepted.
Paper products must still be separated from other recyclables.
