Gunn Historical Museum in Washington will offer a walking tour of Swede Street (School Street) in town June 8 at 11 a.m. as part of the 9th annual Connecticut Open House Day.

Museum curator Stephen Bartkus will lead the tour that will share the history of some of the Swedish families and buildings along Swede Street, beginning with the two Swedish churches and ending at the former Swedish Hall.

The tour will start at the Washington Primary School parking lot at 11 School Street.

The tour coincides with the museum's current exhibit, "Coming to America: Washington's Swedish Immigrants," which may be seen at the Wykeham Road museum Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. through Jan. 12.
