Connecticut's Northwest Corner land trusts have once again organized a cornucopia of fall programs in celebration of Northwest Connecticut Land Trust Days Oct. 10-19.

More than 10 area land trusts will offer a variety of events, including guided and self-guided hikes (one by moonlight), a landscape painting workshop, a nature photography talk, picnic, wine event, fall frolic, geocaching and a day-long family festival.

"Northwest Connecticut is absolutely glorious in the fall," said Susan Payne, executive director of the Roxbury Land Trust.

"Most of these events are designed for families to enjoy together," said Connie Manes, executive director of the Kent Land Trust.

Each land trust will promote its own events, as well as the master calendar, through posters, website and social media.
