The third annual Kids Expo will take place May 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Danbury Sports Dome.

The event at the dome at 2 Shelter Rock Road will feature a variety of shows, entertainment, hands-on activities, educational displays, magic shows, face painting, interactive dance demonstrations, exhibit booths with an array of children- and family-oriented products and services and more.

Offerings will include photographs with Storm Troopers, visits with TV characters, magic with Danny Diamond, mechanical animal rides by Safari Rides, an activity center by Kidz on the Go, caricatures by Judy Tourangeau, balloon animals by Twisty Bros., slot car racing, a bouncy house, airbrush tattoos, sand art, visits with Chuck E. Cheese and rides on the Roaming Railroad.

Scheduled events will include Ms. Janine from 11:15 to 11:30 a.m., the Music Learning Center from 11:40 a.m. to noon, Kickaro's Martial Arts and Fitness from 12:10 to 12:40 p.m., a lyrical routine by Kira Flynn from 12:35 to 2:40 p.m., Musicals at Richter from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m., former "American Idol" top 10 finalist Julie Demato from 1:20 to 1:25 p.m., Infinity music therapy from 12:25 to 1:45 p.m., Western Connecticut Militia from 1:50 to 1:55 p.m., Ultra Violet Puppets from 2 to 2:30 p.m., a magic show from 2:40 to 3:10 p.m. and Nadine's Animal Friends from 3:20 to 3:45 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for 12 and older and $7 for ages 3 to 11 and may be purchased at www.danburykidsexpo.com. A portion of the admission fee will benefit the American Cancer Society.

The third annual sky lantern release will follow the expo.

Patrons may make a $10 donation to the American Cancer Society to participate in the lantern release.
