More than 30 stores, galleries and restaurants on and near Main Street in Kent will participate in a Kent Arts Night in Aug. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Streets will be illuminated, music will be provided and food will be available.

Offerings will include store sales; art exhibits, including the historical society’s postcard exhibit, “Greetings from Kent,” at 12 Maple St.; a reception for an exhibit of Rex Brasher’s bird portraits at Kent Memorial Library; music at Kent Town Center, the Kent Village Barns, the W. David Herman Gallery at 23 Kent Green Blvd., Richard Lindsey Bookseller at 15 North Main St. and at the Fife ’n Drum Restaurant at 53 North Main St.; and improvisation by the 17 Debacles improv troupe from the Brookfield Theater for the Arts at 6 p.m. at Kent Station Pharmacy at 38 North Main St.

In addition, also offered will be Kent Cabaret’s show tunes selection at Kent Station Pharmacy and Smiles at Sunset’s performance of a modern dance piece at 7:15 p.m. at the Golden Falcon lot on Main Street.
