Programs slated at Kent library

Kent Memorial Library will offer a variety of programs in the coming days and weeks.

Junior Room events will include Intermediate Nutmeg Discussion Group, which will discuss “Red Berries, White Clouds, Blue Sky” by Sandra Dallas, Jan. 6 at 6:30 p.m.; a special Lunch Bunch for all ages Jan. 6 at 12:30 p.m.; Teen Nutmeg Discussion Group, which will discuss “Endangered” by Eliot Schrefer, Jan. 9 at 3:30 p.m.; a special storytime for kids ages 2 to 9 on Jan. 21 at 10:30 a.m.; Safe Sitter Training for kids in sixth grade and up Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ($20); Rhythm and Rhyme for kids birth to 3 Jan. 10, 1, 24 and 31 and Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 10:45 a.m.; and Lunch Bunch Jan. 12, 19 and 26 and Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23 at 12:30 p.m.

Adult offerings will include Color Your World Jan. 9 and Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. (at Kent Senior Center on Swifts Lane); poetry group Jan. 21 and Feb. 18 at 10 a.m.; Chess Club Jan. 21 and Feb. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m.; poetry and music night Feb. 4 from 7 to 9 p.m.; “Things Your Body Doesn’t Tell You, And Things it Does” by Debbie Bain Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. (snow date, Feb. 25); and gentle Hatha yoga with Barrie Kavasch Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.
