Program to address 'Bee Colony Collapse'

The town of Sherman, the Conservation Commission, Naromi Land Trust and Sherman Library will co-present a special program, "Bee Colony Collapse: A Threat to Global Agriculture," April 25 at 2 p.m. at the library in Sherman Center.

It will include a screening of the film "Silence of the Bees" and a presentation by expert beekeeper Ray Crawford.

For several years now, beekeepers in the U.S. and Europe have been witnessing Bee Colony Collapse Disorder, which is already causing food short falls as evidenced in the recent California almond harvest.
