The Pratt Nature Center in New Milford will host its Earth Day celebration April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Offerings will include an hourly live touch tank with Norwalk Aquarium; music by the Hummingbird Band; a mud pit (Tonkas and squishing mud supplied; bring extra clothes); a river study with Weantinoge Heritage Land Trust; bug house building with Home Depot; a touch table; a police dog demonstration; a bonfire with s'mores; a master gardener compost exhibit; hands-on worm bins; plantings; food; music; an "Eat Smart, Play Hard" display; mini summer camp experiences for kids; and visits and/or activities with the Village Center for the Arts, the Housatonic Valley Association, EE Smarts, Sullivan Farm, Sunny Valley Farm, Food Cycle Farm, the Bios water car, the Tick Mobile, the New Milford River Trail and Kent Land Trust.

In addition, a 2K dirt dash will take place at noon, with registration for a nominal fee at Fast Track.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring used flip flops, sneakers, books for New Milford Public Library, crayons, crocks, jeans, keys and uncleaned K-cups to the "recycling center."

A raffle ticket will be given to a patron for each item brought for recycling.
