To the Editor:
On behalf of the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank everyone who came out for the Harvest Festival and help us celebrate our downtown.
With offerings of music and line dancing, a drum circle and open microphone, a pet parade, and a hands-on train display, there was something for everyone.
Thank you to:
Mayor Pat Murphy, the Town Council, the Traffic Authority, the Parks & Recreation Department and the highway department of Public Works for their support and assistance in helping us make this community event a reality.
All of the businesses and organizations who participated in showing festival attendees what New Milford has to offer.
All-American Waste for use of the toters and providing garbage removal.
Deb Bauman of Barkery Boo'tique for organizing and hosting the pet parade.
Bob Brophy, entertainment and stage scheduler extraordinaire.
FineLine Theatre Arts for providing the Bank Street stage.
The Harvest Festival All-Stars -- extraordinary musicians from many local bands.
Shayne Newman from YardApes and his girls for their time and effort decorating the light poles in the downtown.
Adam Weaver, train display engineer and conductor.
And last but not least, a big shout-out to the Harvest Festival volunteers who helped make the day, from set up to clean up, run smoothly: Bonnie Blackman, Bob Brophy, Bob Hanna and Laura Lewis.
The Harvest Festival and similar community events are only possible with the help and support of everyone working together.
Thank you for joining us this year in celebrating the wonder of downtown New Milford.
