Praises YardApes for its Earth Day efforts
To the Editor:
The Education Center of the United Methodist Church would like to send a huge thank you to all of the employees and volunteers of YardApes Landscaping.
Our center was a recipient of YardApes' fourth annual PLANET (Professional Landcare Network) Day of Service Contest.
Shayne Newman, the owner of Yardapes, visited our center on several occasions to discuss what areas of need we had And how his group could help us meet that need.
On April 22, Earth Day, several hardworking, kind and generous volunteers came out to our child-care center to beautify our playgrounds and entry walkway.
This group of volunteers arrived ready to go with smiles on their faces, and began to work their magic.
Upon completion of their work, our hearts melted as we walked the grounds and saw how beautiful our outdoor areas had now become.
As a nonprofit business, we have been discussing for several months how we were going to make these changes happen, and it seemed as though in the blink of an eye, our visions came to fruition.
Had it not been for the generosity of Shayne and his crew, who knows how or when we would have been able to complete our projects?
The staff, children and families of the Education Center, to include myself, would like with the warmest of regards to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for your hard work, dedication, and service to our child-care center and to the community.
