The public is invited to a listening session Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the E. Paul Martin Meeting Room of Roger Sherman Town Hall in New Milford.

Police Chief Spencer Cerruto, Mayor Pete Bass and other police command staff will be present to listen to the concerns of the community.

The session will be an open forum and topics of discussion will be up to the attendees.

“I want to hear from the community, so I can better understand what their concerns and priorities are,” Cerruto said. “I believe in listening to the community and being responsive to the needs of the community.”

Bass extended his thanks to Cerruto and the men and women of the NMPD for planning the session and making it “a priority to engage the community and appreciate their input.”

“I applaud Chief Cerruto for beginning his listening tour to hear from our residents and community at large,” Bass said.

Due to COVID concerns the number of in person attendees is limited to 15, but the session will be broadcast on Facebook Live for those who do not feel comfortable attending in person.

Masks are required and social distancing will be maintained. Hand sanitizer will be available.
