To the Editor:

The Kent Park and Recreation Commission and I appreciate the enthusiastic response to our recent community events.

About 130 youngsters participated in the Kids Fun Run, held in conjunction with the Kent Pumpkin Run.

We enjoyed seeing youngsters and their families supporting each other at these annual events.

Kent seniors showed their Halloween spirit at a Halloween luncheon at the Senior Center.

We helped promote safety on Halloween evening with the distribution of 750 glow-in-the-dark necklaces to trick-or-treaters of all ages.

We would like to thank John Casey and the Kent Pumpkin Run Committee, especially Dave Dunleavy, Lyn Stirnweiss and Ana Dumoff, for their assistance with the Fun Run.

We are grateful for the support of the Kent Lions Club to enable the Halloween safety campaign.

Thank you also to Bruce and Holly Adams for their help handing out glow necklaces.

The commission and I are grateful for the opportunity to sponsor these seasonal events for the residents of Kent.
