Pleased 'bike day' helped so many kids
To the Editor:
The New Milford Youth Agency is pleased to thank the community for another successful Bike Day.
This year, the New Milford Bike Express Team (John Gallagher, John Lynch, Mark and Jenn Pernerewski) transformed 32 donated bikes, in various conditions, that were adopted by very appreciated teens and children from New Milford.
The Rotary Club of New Milford generously paid for brand new helmets for the recipients once again.
Tom O'Brien, advocate for Sega Meadows and experienced bicyclist, gave a safety talk to the group and helped with the proper fitting of the helmets.
The Youth Agency's Gene Marino and Lauren Campbell were on hand to assist, as well as Linda Slater and teens Jake O'Brien, Harry Singh, Matt Lalli, Ada, Jeff and Michelle Lin, Mady Doud, Jonathan Pais, Alex Slater, Marissa Zipke, Nevan Swanson, James Kainth, Kirsten and Tyler Potts, and Ryan Titmas.
Lastly, thank you to our friends who donated teen bikes in our last-minute call for help.
Have a safe and fun summer outside and on your bikes.
