The After School Arts Program based in Washington will present the world-renowned dance company Pilobolus for two special performances on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. in Washington.

The performances will be staged at Shepaug Valley Middle High School on South Street.

Pilobolus, founded in 1971, has built its fervent and expanding international following by showing the human body to be the most expressive, universal, and magical of media.

In recent years, Pilobolus has transformed from avant-garde dance company into an international entertainment brand featured on the likes of Oprah, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the Academy Awards.

The Community Dance Project piece, starring members from our community, will be performed as part of the Pilobolus show.

The performance will also feature students from the ASAP Inter-district Dance Project, featuring students in grades 3 through 5.

Tickets are $35 for general admission, $25 for students, $50 for reserved seating and $100 for patron seating.

Patron seating tickets include prime reserved seating and a listing in the program as an underwriter.
