The 37th annual Pickin' 'n' Fiddlin' Contest will be held July 9 at 2 p.m. in Roxbury.

The event, sponsored by the Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department, will take place at Hurlburt Park on Apple Lane.

A rain date of July 10 is set. Contestant registration will start at 1:30 p.m.

Categories to be judged will include old time fiddle, old time banjo, mandolin, trick and fancy fiddle, finger picking and flat picking guitar, bluegrass banjo and band playoff.

Bands will perform between categories.

Prizes totaling more than $3,200 will be awarded.

Patrons are invited to bring lawn chairs. No dogs will be permitted.

Food, refreshments and crafts will be available to purchase. Tickets are $10. Children under 10 will be admitted for free.
