Philip C. Jejer, 85, a native of New Milford, died May 2. He was the husband of Rosemary (Matriciano) Jejer.

Mr. Jejer was born Jan. 15, 1926, in New Milford, son of Frank and Daisy (Carroll) Jejer. He attended New Milford schools.

A veteran of World War II, he enlisted in the United States Navy in January of 1944 and was honorably discharged as seaman first class in February of 1946. He received several medals.

After his service in the Navy, he was employed by Luther Day Tree Service in New Milford until 1965.

Mr. Jejer then worked for Kimberly-Clark until his retirement in 1988.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Jejer enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Jejer is survived by three sons, Leonard C. Jejer, of Windsor, Philip J. Jejer, and his wife, Diane, and their son, Jason, of West Danville, Vt., and Jonathan F. Jejer, and his wife, Robin, and their daughter, Nicholle, and son, Nathan, of New Milford.; a sister, Frances (Jejer) Hill, of New Milford; and several nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas L. Jejer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated June 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, Route 109, New Milford.

Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, New Milford.

The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford is in charge of arrangements.
