Police said Saturday they were holding two "persons of interest" related to the Friday robbery of a Union Savings Bank branch at 41 East St. in New Milford.

Police said the two were being held on unrelated charges.

Witnesses said a man entered the bank Friday at 3:42 p.m., said "This is a robbery" and demanded money from the teller, according to a police news release.

The man fled the bank in a white vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Police have asked anyone with information about the robbery to call 860-355-3133.
