Penny auction set at church
Salem Covenant Church in Washington will hold its 22nd annual penny auction Oct. 28.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. The drawing will be held at 1 p.m. at the 96 Baldwin Hill Road church.
Guests can purchase 100 tickets for $1 to bid on hundreds of new and gently used items.
A red ticket raffle, featuring gift certificates, gift baskets, wine and collectibles, will also be offered.
Red tickets will start at 50 cents each with price breaks for larger quantities.
A 50/50 raffle will also be offered. The cost is $1 for one or $5 for 10.
A lunch of sandwiches, chips, homemade desserts, coffee, tea and soda will be available.
Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit the Susan B. Anthony Project. The remaining 90 recent will go toward the work of Salem Covenant Church.
