Peeps diorama contest under way in Kent
Kent Memorial Library has issued an invitation for individuals of all ages to participate in its Peeps diorama contest.
Participants are encouraged to create a diorama of Peeps based on anything individuals can find at the library, including books, magazines, movies, games and more.
Two categories will be offered: 14 and under and 15 and older.
One entry per person will be accepted.
Diorama sizes should be no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet — shoe box size is perfect - and must include one or more Peeps.
Other materials can be used for Peeps costumes and to assemble the scene.
The contents of each diorama must be secure enough to survive transport to locations within the library.
Entries should include name and age on the back. The title of the diorama should be on the front.
Entry forms and dioramas can be delivered to the library’s circulation desk or the junior room before April 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Entry forms are available at the library and on the website.
Winners will be announced April 22 after public voting has finished. Come to the library April 9 through April 20 to vote for the ‘Peeples’ Choice Award.
The contest is sponsored by the Lakeville Journal.
One of the winning prizes will be a free year's subscription to The Lakeville Journal.
“We welcome the creative spirit and fun these dioramas will bring to the library this spring,” said Kimberly Seeger, director of children’s and teen services. “We anticipate much laughter.”
