Paul J. Paiva, 49, of Bethel, died May 6 at Danbury Hospital.

He was born in Danbury, the son of Arthur Paiva, of Danbury, and the late Ruth (Barker) Paiva.

He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury and Naugatuck Community College.

He was employed as a manufacturing engineer manager for the Waring Conair Co. in Torrington for many years.

He was a member of St. Mary Church in Bethel.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; his father, Arthur; three daughters: Jennifer Paiva-Klein, and her husband, Mike, of New Milford; and Brittany and Brianna Paiva, both of Bethel; two brothers, Michael Paiva, of Danbury, and David Paiva, of Greenville, S.C., and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Green Funeral Home in Danbury was in charge of arrangements.

Interment will be private.
