The New Milford Youth Agency will offer a free program, “Parenting Your Teen,” Nov. 14 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The program, geared toward parents of students in fifth through 12th grade, will take place at The Maxx on Railroad Street.

Laura Cleary, LMSW, social worker and parent coach, will offer practical tips to improve communication, and discuss “normal” teen development and when to worry, how to solve real life problems with a teen, how to keep teens safe and help them learn from their mistakes, and how to set limits and also support a teen's growing independence.

Students in fifth through 12th grade are welcome to use a supervised homework/hangout space in an adjoining room.
