Offers thanks for doctors' 'extraordinary work'

To the Editor:

Every day a life is transformed at New Milford Hospital and Danbury Hospital.

This transformation is heard in the sighs of relief in the emergency department when a patient learns it wasn't a heart attack after all and seen in the tears of joy when a patient is pronounced cancer free.

Many of us have been profoundly touched and had our lives improved by a physician's compassionate, expert care.

In honor of the recent National Doctors' Day, we would like to acknowledge and thank all of the physicians associated with Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital for their extraordinary work in caring for our patients and our community.

It is just one day, yet our gratitude lasts all year.

Day and night, these physicians share their medical expertise, talents and concern, supporting our mission to provide uniquely excellent, innovative and compassionate health care that improves the health of those we serve.

For that, we are very grateful.

New Milford and Danbury hospitals have been at the forefront of providing quality health care for the residents of Litfchfield and Fairfield counties for many years.

As affiliates of the Western Connecticut Health Network, we are now joined in our efforts by Norwalk Hospital and its numerous associated health care practices.

As part of this network, we now work with more than 1,300 physicians with a broad range of medical and surgical specialties.

While a great deal has changed over the years, our unwavering commitment to exceptional care for our communities proudly remains the same.

Please join us in honoring our dedicated physicians for their invaluable contributions and the positive impact they have on us all.
