NEWTOWN - Police arrested two Newtown High School students for possession of narcotics in a week's time.

An investigation conducted by school officials, security officers and Dana Schubert , the school's public resource officer, ended with the arrest of a 16-year-old male Feb. 5.

According to police, the boy was found to have pills that were stolen from a Newtown home. The pills were suspected to be narcotics and a controlled substance.

The boy was charged with sixth-degree larceny, two counts of possession of narcotics, and possession of a controlled substance. He was released on a written promise to appear Feb. 20 in Danbury Superior Court.

On Thursday, exactly a week later, another male student was arrested after school officials found him with marijuana.

This boy, whose age was not released, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of tobacco by a minor. He was released on a written promise to appear Feb. 27 in Danbury Superior Court.
