New Milford man who served 18 months in prison in 2006-07 for beating a Chinese food delivery man has been sentenced to another 22 months for violating his probation.

Alexander Blass, 23, was sentenced March 11 at Litchfield Superior Court. He was returned to Connecticut in January following an arrested in Flagler County Florida for a minor vehicular infraction. Florida police discovered a fugitive from justice warrant for Mr. Blass from Connecticut, according to a Florida justice website. He was on probation at the time according to court records.

In February 2005 in New Milford, Mr. Blass and Christopher Lemke called a Chinese restaurant and asked to have a delivery made to the Bel Air Condominiums on Route 202. When the victim went to deliver the order, they attacked him from behind with a hammer, according to court records. The delivery man was taken to New Milford Hospital by ambulance and required about eight staples to close the wound, police said at the time. Mr. Blass was found guilty of third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary and second-degree conspiracy to commit assault. He was sentenced in March 2006 to four years in jail to be suspended after 18 months and followed with five years probation.
