NEW MILFORD -- A 20-year-old New Milford man was arrested for allegedly attacking high school security officers Wednesday evening when they asked him to leave the school grounds, police said.

Franklyn Reid Jr., of Paper Mill Road, also was charged with kicking out the window of a New Milford police cruiser, according to the police report.

When New Milford officers responded to the high school at 6:49 p.m., Reid physically resisted arrest, assaulting one officer, according to the report, and he then kicked out the window of the cruiser while in custody.

Reid was charged with second-degree breach of peace, four counts of assault on a public safety officer, two counts of second-degree threatening, second-degree criminal mischief, non-assaultive interfering with an officer, first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree assault, according to police.

He was held on $750,000 bond, police said.
