A New Milford woman has tested positive for coronavirus, Mayor Pete Bass said Thursday afternoon.

The woman is between the ages of 45 and 64 years old, making this the town’s first confirmed case. She is currently isolated and recovering at her home in self-quarantine. Her husband and son home from college are also self-quarantined, Bass said.

The state Department of Public Health is contacting all of the people who came in close contact with her.

Bass also reminded residents to continue social distancing and washing their hands.
