Registration is underway for programs offered by the New Milford Parks & Recreation Department. A brochure is available at the office at 47 Bridge St. Hours are weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Girls in the Groove
Girls in grades 4-6 are eligible for an after-school running and conversation club at the Sarah Noble Intermediate School teachers' lounge. Sessions meet Mondays from 3:20 to 4:45 p.m. from Sept. 13 to Dec. 7 at the cost of $140.
Barracudas swim team
Signup for the competitive youth swim team will be held Sept. 13-17 at the Parks & Recreation office. Practices at Canterbury School will start in October with most meets to be held Saturdays. A $50 deposit will be required at registration. Cost will be $300 for beginners and $360 for advanced swimmers.
Sessions for member or non-member youths aged 2-9 at the New Milford Sports Club will meet Saturdays starting Sept. 18 at the cost of $75 for six weeks.
Classes for Little Yogis for ages 3-5, Me Toddler Yoga for walking to age 3, and Baby Yoga for 6 weeks to walking will meet at the Parks & Recreation office at the cost of $60. Call the rec office for times and days.
Lynn Deming Park
The town beach at Lynn Deming Park on Candlewood Lake is open with lifeguard hours of 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the Labor Day weekend. Day passes are available only at the Parks & Recreation office at $5 per resident or $15 per non-resident.
"Sit and Stay" classes instructed by Dee Chusiano will meet Thursdays from Sept. 16 to Oct. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. for puppies aged 10 to 18 weeks and from 7 to 8 p.m. for beginners at Clatter Valley Park at the cost of $70.
A Nov. 20 bus trip to Manhattan to see the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall will leave Patriot's Way at 7:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. performance and return about 4 p.m. Cost will be $70 for ticket and transportation.
Kaye Davis instructs sessions of low-impact swimming meeting Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the New Milford Sports Club at the cost of $100 for eight weeks.
