Registration is under way for many programs offered by the New Milford Parks & Recreation Department.
The spring/summer brochure is available at the Parks & Rec office at 47 Bridge St. Hours are weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 860-355-6050, check www.newmilford.org or visit the office.
Registration is under way for summer camp for youths in kindergarten to grade 8. Sessions will be offered weekdays from Wednesday to Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at various sites in town. Cost is $370 for a family's first child, $315 for a second child and $245 for a third child. The cost of trips to Lynn Deming Park are included but cost of other trips is not.
Sports Squirts camp
Sessions will meet for children aged 3-4 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the cost of $69; for children aged 4-5 from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. at the cost of $99; and for children aged 3-5 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the cost of $69 at Young's Field. Signup is available at the Parks & Recreation office or at ussportsinstitute.com.
Sessions will meet July 11-15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sarah Noble School for youths aged 6-12 at the cost of $125.
Sessions instructed by Jim Manweiler will meet Aug. 1-5 from 9 a.m. to noon at Clatter Valley Park for children aged 8-12 at the cost of $125.
Hot Shot Hoop
Sessions will meet July 25-29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sarah Noble School for youths aged 7-13 at the cost of $150.
Sessions for children aged 6-14 will be meet July 11-15 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Schaghticoke Middle School at the cost of $169. Signup is available at the Parks & Rec office or at usportsinstitute.com.
Lynn Deming Park
The town park on Candlewood Lake is open for the season. Residents/taxpayers may purchase a vehicle pass for $45 with proof of residency or paid tax bills from the town. Boat launch stickers are $115. Stickers are required of every boat/jet ski, with proof of residency or paid tax bill. Day passes are $5 for residents and $20 for non-residents per person, per day. Day passes can only be purchased at the New Milford Parks & Recreation office at 47 Bridge Street Mondays to Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. No day passes are sold at the gate and walk-ins are not admitted. A limited number of boat slips are still available.
Lessons will be given Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from June 27 to July 14 during the afternoon at Lynn Deming Park at the cost of $50 and in the evening at the New Milford Sports Club for $80.
Low-impact classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. from June 27 to Aug. 29 at the Parks & Recreation office at the cost of $78.
A July 8 bus trip to The Bronx, N.Y. to see the New York Yankees play the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium will depart the Patriots' Way parking lot at 4 p.m. and return after the game. Cost of $70 will include transportation and ticket.
