Registration is underway for many programs offered by the New Milford Parks & Recreation Department.

The spring/summer brochure is available at the Parks & Rec office at 47 Bridge St. Hours are weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Summer camp

Registration for summer camp for youths in kindergarten to grade eight will start Monday. Sessions will be offered weekdays from June 27 to Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at various sites in town. Cost through June 3 is $320 for a family's first child, $265 for a second child and $195 for a third child. Cost after June 3 will be an additional $50. The cost of trips to Lynn Deming Park are included but cost of additional trips are not.

Teen dodgeball

Free, open sessions for area high school students meet Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. through May 31 at Pettibone School, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Greater New Milford and MVP-SOS.


Boating safety

DEP boating and watercraft safety classes hosted by the state DEP will be offered May 2, 3, 9 and 11 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at New Milford High School. Participants must attend all classes at the cost of $20.

Swim lessons

Lessons will be given Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from June 27 to July 14 during the afternoon at Lynn Deming Park at the cost of $50, and in the evening at the New Milford Sports Club for $80.

Yankees baseball

A July 8 bus trip to New York City to see the New York Yankees play the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium will depart the Patriots' Way parking lot at 4 p.m. and return after the game. Cost of $70 will include transportation and ticket.
