NEW MILFORD — The new 15,000-square-foot Goodwill Store at 115 Danbury Road in New Milford is anticipated to open in coming weeks.

New Milford building officials are waiting for final clearance from Zoning to issue the certificate of occupancy. Zoning Enforcement Officer Laura Regan is waiting for a final engineering report on stormwater run off. Once that paperwork is in, the building should be cleared for opening.

Property owner Garett Palmer said Wednesday the town has been “excellent” to work with and as with any project, “it’s a process” to get to its conclusion.

“The interior is completed by Goodwill’s contractors,” Palmer said. “It’s just a matter of getting all the paperwork taken care of.”

The new store is 3,000-square-feet larger than the Goodwill Store in Lore’s Plaza. It is anticipated that 35 to 40 workers will be employed at the new store and over 1 million pounds of goods will be recycled there annually.
