The Naromi Land Trust in Sherman will hold its 49th annual meeting July 8 at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting, to be held at Lake Mauweehoo Clubhouse on Leach Hollow Road, will celebrate the designation of the trust’s Wimisink Wildlife Sanctuary as an Important Bird Area.

Corrie Folsom-O’Keefe will give a presentation on IBAs and, and a slideshow of Dennis Larkin’s photographs of birds will be shown.

The Audubon Connecticut, the state office of the National Audubon Society, has recognized the sanctuary.

Audubon's Important Bird Areas (IBA) Program is a global effort to identify and protect habitat that will protect sustainable populations of birds.
