The Naromi Land Trust in Sherman will celebrate Earth Day April 21 with three events honoring local farms and the trust's properties.

Interested residents are invited to help plant 150 native plants in the recently restored watercourse at Babbling Brook Farm.

Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at the farm on Church Road.

Some tools will be available for use, but volunteers are asked to bring a shovel and gloves, and to wear protective, sturdy shoes and bug spray and water.

A one-hour walk will be offered at 1:30 a.m. at Strauss Preserve at the end of Edmonds Road.

Interested hikers are asked to wear sturdy shoes and bring bug spray, water and a snack.

A party will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at White Silo Farm & Winery on Route 37.

Offerings will include wine, cheese and other hors d'oeuvres, the music of Doug Mahard and tours of Naromi's trail system without hiking boots.

Admission is $25 per person at the door.

Pre-registration is required by calling 860-354-0260, emailing naromi@sbcglobal.net or visit www.naromi.org.
