Nancy (Rasmussen) Sealund, 75, of Newtown, died June 18 at the Glen Hill Convalescent Center in Danbury after a long illness.

Mrs. Sealund was born May 18, 1937, daughter of Carl Edward and Laura (Andrews) Rasmussen, in the home in which she lived for much of her life in the Dodgingtown section of Newtown. She graduated from Newtown High School in 1955.

Mrs. Sealund was owner and operator of Carousel Hair Stylists in New Milford for 14 years, worked at Grolier in Danbury for 13 years and retired from Hologic/Lorad of Danbury in 2010.

Mrs. Sealund loved singing, reading her Bible and meditating on Scriptures. She enjoyed sports and loved God's creations. She was a member of the Bethel Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Even from her hospice bed she was active by writing letters and sharing Bible truths with visitors and staff.

Mrs. Sealund is survived by three sons, Stuart and Carl, of Newtown, and John, of Massachusetts; a daughter, Jean Lea Johnson, of Newtown; three grandchildren, Kyle, Jamie and Codi Sealund, of New Milford; a sister, Gloria Richardson, of Newtown; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and the father of her children, John Sealund, of California. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Jean Augusta Rasmussen.

A memorial service will take place Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 48 Payne Road, Danbury.

There are no calling hours. Cremation and interment will be private.
