NMHS to host band competition

The New Milford High School Marching Band and Color Guard will host its annual USBands home competition Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m.
The event will take place at NMHS on Route 7 South.
USBands serves as a competitive circuit for scholastic band programs nationwide and prides itself in providing world-class performance venues and the best adjudication in the marching arts to thousands of students each year.
Over 700 high schools will participate in USBands events this fall.
The home competition will feature performances from the award-winning New Milford High School Marching Band and Color Guard as well as schools from the surrounding area in Connecticut.
In addition, a special performance of the University of New Haven Marching Band will be featured.
Thirteen bands are scheduled to perform at the event.
Admission for the events is $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and faculty.
A wide variety of food and refreshments will be available, including home-baked goods, pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, pizza and more.
