NMHS students to stage '42nd Street'

Students and faculty at New Milford High School are busy preparing for their all-school musical production of the Broadway musical hit, "42nd Street."

The story follows the production of a Depression-era musical. The star has to drop out when she breaks her leg and a young girl from the chorus takes over the lead role.

The production is based on the novel by Bradford Ropes and the 1933 movie, also based on that novel.

Music was by Harry Warren, lyrics by Al Dubin and a book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble.

Among the famous songs from the show are "We're In The Money," "Lullabye of Broadway" and "42nd Street."

Evening performances at 7 p.m. will be presented March 23, 24, 30 and 31.

Matinee performances will be given March 25 at 3 p.m. and March 31 at 2 p.m.
