NMHS student charged with assault

A 17-year-old New Milford High School student was arrested April 12 and charged with third-degree assault, stemming from a fight that had occurred at the school in March.

New Milford police said the boy will be referred to juvenile authorities as the result of the alleged March 5 assault.

The student will also be subject to school disciplinary procedures that can range from suspension to expulsion, depending on the circumstances. Physical assault is a violation of school policy.
