‘Music in the Nave’ concerts set in Kent

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Kent will open its 2016-17 “Music in the Nave” concert series Satruday at 6 p.m.
The program will feature international concert pianist Jonathan Moyer, who will play Mozart’s “Fantasy” in C minor, K 475, Alexander Scriabin’s “Sonata No. 2” in G-sharp minor, Op. 19 and Franz Liszt’s “Consolations Nos. 1 & 2,” “Ava Maria” (die Glocken von Rom) and “Benediction” (de Dieu dans la solitude) on the church’s 1909 Steinway Parlor Grand piano.
He regularly accepts invitations to teach abroad and has lectured in conservatories and federal universities in Brazil, and visited Germany and Portugal as a guest teacher.
Tickets are $13 in advance at https://mitn9-24-16.eventbrite.com and $15 at the door. Students will be admitted for free.
Future concerts will feature music instructors from Kent School Oct. 30 at 4 p.m., the sixth annual Messiah Sing-In Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. and the Sherman Chamber Ensemble April 30 at 4 p.m.
