Museum to offer oral history project program
The New Milford Historical Society & Museum will present “Connecticut Crossroads Oral History Project with Chris Fisher” Feb. 24 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The Connecticut Crossroads Project is a not-for-profit organization with the mission to preserve the history of communities within Connecticut.
Fisher, the president of the organization, will join residents in a conversation about the goals of the organization, how they differentiate town and community and why everyone’s memories matter.
The presentation will include a live interview with a special guest that will be recorded and preserved in the organization’s archive.
Fisher, a resident of New Milford, graduated from WCSU with a B.A. in history, and continued his education at Trinity College, where he graduated with an M.A. in American Studies.
Fisher enjoys listening to stories of people's lives, exploring discontinued roads, working on his 1827 home, and trying to pass his love of history onto his son.
Light refreshments will be served.
The program is free for members and $5 for non-members.
