Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will present a program on "Mozart's Effect On Us: Inquiries into Music and the Brain" June 29.

Vincent de Luise will give a lecture and PowerPoint presentation on music and the relationship of the humanities to medicine at 6:30 p.m.

The program will explore the neurology of music, aspects of the brain and music, music and language, Stephen Pinker's "auditory cheesecake" model, major key, happy minor key, sad myths, dissonances and consonances, the so-called Mozart effect, how the brain itself makes music and more.
