Motorcyclist incurs injuries in Grove Street accident

Motorcyclist Joshua Doutney, 31, of New Milford was transported Sunday morning to Danbury Hospital with moderate injuries after an accident that closed Grove Street for more than an hour, police said.

Doutney was traveling northbound along Grove Street on a 2005 Honda motorcycle when he was struck by a 1992 Buick sedan driven by Bettie Maclay, 76, of Brookfield.

Maclay was making a left turn to Grove Street from Hine Hill Road, according Water Witch Hose Co. No. 2 Chief James Ferlow.

Maclay was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

The accident occurred Sunday at about 10:346 a.m. at the Hine Hill Road intersection.

The road was closed between Fordyce and Hine Hill road until about 11:30 a.m., police said.
