Police have identified a 19-year-old Bridgewater man as the motorcyclist seriously injured May 25 in a crash on Sunny Valley Road in New Milford.

Scott Wolfe of Old Turnpike Road failed to stop at a stop sign near the entrance to Sarah Noble Intermediate School, police said, when he collided with a car driven by 19-year-old Kathryn Droessler of Wykeham Road in Washington.

Mr. Wolfe was transported to Danbury Hospital where he was listed the next day in serious condition.

Sean Howard, who witnessed the 6:04 p.m. crash, said after the collision that Mr. Wolfe, who was wearing a helmet, appeared disoriented and was bleeding heavily from his head and arms.

Mr. Howard said the eastbound motorcyclist missed the stop sign somewhat hidden at the entrance to the school and collided with the front fender of Ms. Droessler's car.

Police said Ms. Droessler was attempting to make a left turn out of the school driveway when the crash occurred. She was not injured.

The department's accident reconstruction team was continuing its investigation.
