Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will present an exhibit,” Art of Imagined Landscapes,” Feb. 3 through March 17.

The exhibit will feature paintings by Alissa Morabito.

Morabito has an obsession with beautiful landscapes and paints them through a retrospective and romanticized view.

“I paint to bridge the gap between the real world and the perceived world,” the artist said. “I want to capture that fleeting bit of magic that forever remains locked away in our memories.”

“I have an impassioned longing for light,” she said. “Capturing the light is everything; it is what makes an ordinary landscape or figure ethereal.”

The Wykeham Road library is open Mondays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
