Metcho Corna, 86, was a native of New Milford

Mr. Corna was born Sept. 9, 1918, in New Milford, son of the late Anthony and Katherine (Marshall) Corna.

He worked as a blaster for E. Paul Kovacs for 29 years. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478, in Hamden.

Besides his wife, Mr. Corna is survived by two daughters, Sharon of Bethel and Mary Sheldon of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four sons, Fred and his wife Arlene of New Fairfield, Metcho and his wife Diane of Pinellas Park, David of Bethel and Mark and his wife Rebecca of Brookfield; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Schlemmer.

The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
