The fourth annual Messiah sing-in will be held Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Route 7 in Kent.

Comprised of a small string section, an organist for the Basso Continuum, four soloists and the chorus, the performance will be closer to the first performance of George Frederic Handel's "Messiah" held April 13, 1742 in Dublin.

For this performance, the audience will be the chorus, and although only Part 1 will be sung, the Hallelujah Chorus from Part 2 will be added at the end.

The instrumentalists are all members of the Sherman Chamber Ensemble.

Soloists for the evening will be sopranos Margaret O'Brien, alto Melissa Schipul, tenor Michael Chamberlin and bass-baritone Joseph McDonough.

Singers are urged to bring their own scores. A limited number of scores will be for sale at the door.

The sing-in, which will include a reception, will cost $20; $30 with a full score; and $22 for a reprint of the part for just the choruses.
