The Sherman Chamber Ensemble and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Kent Church will team up Nov. 30 for the second annual "Messiah Sing-In" in Kent.

The event, part of the church's Music in the Nave series, will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the church on Main Street.

The sing-in, in which the audience participates by singing the choruses, will comprise only the Christmas portion of the oratorio, or Part I, from the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah and his birth through the annunciation of the birth to the shepherds, plus the final chorus in Part II, the Hallelujah Chorus.

SCE's Susan Rotholz will conduct a small chamber ensemble in accompaniment of four soloists and the audience-chorus.

The instrumentalists will include Paul Woodiel and Andrea Schultz on violin, Jill Jaffe on viola, Eliot Bailen on cello, Peter Weitzner on double bass, Ms. Rotholz on flute and guest organist Amy Vinisko, while the soloists will include soprano Margaret O'Brien, alto Melissa Schipul, tenor Michael Chamberlin and bass-baritone Joe McDonough.

Singers are urged to bring their own scores, which will also be available for rental or purchase at the door.

Admission, which will include a post-reception in the parish hall, is $20, with proceeds to benefit the church's music fund.
