St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Kent will present its sixth annual “Messiah Sing-In” Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The event will feature the Christmas portion of the “Oratorio,” or Part I, from the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah and his birth through the Annunciation of the birth to the shepherds.

Included, although it is actually the final chorus in Part II, is the “Hallelujah Chorus.”

The performance will feature the Sherman Chamber Ensemble’s string quartet, organ accompaniment by Laurel Larsen, four soloists and the chorus/audience.

The choruses at the end of each of the five “scenes” in Part 1 and the “Hallelujah Chorus” are written for a large chorus.

The audience will be invited to participate.

The program will be held at the 1 N. Main St. church, followed by a reception.

Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door for adults, and free for students.
