Maureen Pugner, 64, sister of New Milford man
Mrs. Pugner was born Oct. 11, 1940, in Pawtucket, R.I., the daughter of the late Edward and Sarah (Breen) McNamara.
Her family relocated to New Rochelle, N.Y., and finally to Danbury, where she resided for the last 47 years.
She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church in Danbury. She worked and volunteered for many organizations such as Datahr (Ability Beyond Disability) and the Department of Children and Families. She loved children and offered her house and love to countless foster children.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Pugner is survived by four daughters, Phyllis Saparato of Brookfield, Rose and her husband Bob Germinaro of Bethel, Toni and her husband Dan Bushey of Torrington, and Wendy and her husband Dave Poulin of Danbury; two sisters, Patricia Cagliastro of Ossining, N.Y., and Margaret Boden of Briarcliff, N.Y.; two brothers, Edward McNamara of New Milford and Robert McNamara of New Rochelle; 10 grandchildren, Julie, Philip, Danielle, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Caitlin, Steven, Bobby, Christian and Andrea; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Angelea; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her special foster child, Michael Dale Walden.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury handled arrangements.
